My girlfriend is more of a morning person than I am. She wakes up before me, feeds Toku before setting him up watching cartoons then waters her indoor plants and starts brewing coffee. Needless to say, we’re all very pleased with this result. My only concern is Toku’s eyes, perhaps we ought to invest in some blue-light glasses for him.
Another one of Toku’s toys arrived today. Needless to say, he hates it. The very sight of it infuriates him to the point that we’ve had to hide it in a remote location where he’ll be unable to find it. His hatred for this particular toy has somehow exceed ‘evil-leaf’ status.
Toku has enjoyed looking out the windows as of late, house and car. We both know he’s studying us, the humans that is. I can’t help wondering what he’s plotting behind those gorgeous brown eyes and black nose.
My girlfriend had a migraine the other day, the likely byproduct of our absurdly busy and draining week. Instinctively noting that something was off, Toku stayed by her side all day and performed routine check-ups on her while she napped. We’ve been working at the shelter for so long, taking care of animals, that it somehow slipped our mind that they too: look after us. It’s really nice having Toku around and today I count myself lucky.
