Adopting Toku: Day 65

The holiday house has exceeded everybodies expectations ten times over, including and especially Toku’s. Playing by the pool, exploring the area, rolling in the grass, Toku couldn’t be happier experiencing the simpler things in life and neither could we.

It’s nice to get away, even if it isn’t far. You get to drop your guard down and switch off for a bit. Do some self-reflecting, sit with your insecurities and really get to know yourself that little bit better. Something we rarely find time to do nowadays and that can’t be great for anyone’s mental health.

Speaking of vulnerabilities, Toku has been doing a lot of self-reflecting himself recently. Trying to better understand not just who he is but what his place in the world shall be, I suspect that as a misunderstood and shy dog he wants first and foremost to be seen and heard. As we all do. From there, I’d like to think he’s contemplating how best to help the world.

Toku and the pool are both close friends and not at all very friendly with one another. It’s hilarious. The love/hate relationship he shares with it is starting to look like a signature of his as he feels similarly about the evil leaves and certain pot plants.
